March 3, 2015After a Couple Weeks

We have been home for just about two weeks but strangely it feels like we’ve been here longer. Unsure of what to expect upon returning home I was surprised by how fortified I felt. Often through the winter months I struggle with feelings of sadness and anxiety but for the week following our return I felt strong and healthy, despite the jet lag. I do believe that the sun and heat we experienced in Thailand had a significantly positive effect on me, actually on all of us, and I will keep this in mind for the future. I am finding, however, that those benefits seem to be slowly fading away and so I have been extra purposeful in getting outside as much as possible.

In the last couple weeks I have been taking every advantage of the warm sunny days that have been ours. As I walk around my yard I am already noticing signs of early spring. The hardy onions and garlic are sprouting through the cold soil and buds are swelling on the lilac bushes. We still wake to frost in the morning and there is a still a chill in the air but I have a hopeful assurance that spring is not far off.

Good to hear from you again! I think my two big kids are feeling the same as you, they are jumping outside after breakfast despite the crisp wind, and enjoying the warm sunshine to the fullest. I can't wait to take my littlest out there once it warms up just a bit more!
